Twelve Songs of Christmas, Day 5: We Three Kings

One of the things my parents did to help us focus on the true meaning of Christmas: Give us only 3 gifts, to remind us of the gifts the Wisemen brought to Christ.

And to explicitly tie the gifts we received with the Savior, who is God’s gift to the world. The only perfect being to live on the earth, He who made it possible for us to return to live with our Father in Heaven. He who suffered for our sins on Calvary’s hill so we could be ransomed. He who lived His life as an example to “guide us to they perfect light

I am grateful for the wise men, who show us the value of recognizing worthy pursuits (seeking out the Son of God) and seeing them through. For the reminder of the importance of seeking for truth and direction from the scriptures, of recognizing the fulfillment of prophesy when it comes.

Goal: Seek the Savior now, and bring Him a gift from my heart this season and into the New Year.

Full Lyrics: Celtic Women singing We Three Kings

We three kings of orient are,
Bearing gifts we traverse afar
Field and fountain,
Moor and mountain,
Following yonder star.

Born a King on Bethlehem's plain,
Gold I bring to crown Him again
King for ever, ceasing never
Over us all to reign.

O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright.
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect light.

O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright.
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect light.

Glorious now behold Him arise,
King and God and Sacrifice!
Al-le-lu-ia, al-le-lu-ia,
Heaven to earth replies.

O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright.
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect light.
